Poster presentations are sought from delegates of all specialities. As with the podium presentations, subjects do not have to be solely military in nature but may reflect work undertaken by military practitioners in a research environment or in clinical practice within the National Health Service.
Posters submissions are also actively encouraged from professions allied to medicine such as paramedics, military nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, prosthetists, laboratory or other staff actively involved in the chain of military care from point of wounding through to rehabilitation.
Posters should be made A0 in size and presented as a portrait format [landscape formats will not be displayed]. Allocate the top of the poster for the title and authors as stated on the submitted abstract. The text, illustrations, etc should be bold enough to be read from a distance of two meters [six feet]. Tacks and technical equipment will be available for the hanging of posters. The posters will be on display for the duration of the two-day conference.
The posters will be judged according to the following criteria:
· Intellectual content
· Study design [if appropriate]
· Military relevance
· Take-home message
· Aesthetic design and layout of the poster
An experts’ round of the posters will be made to judge the best poster. The winner will receive a cash prize sponsored the Military Surgical Society.
